"One of my favorite pieces of the collection: ByBorre's experimentation mixing knit panels with woven shirting materials is incredibly successul. Why so many seams and panels on a shacket, you ask? Because Borre always pushes the envelope of fit and uses engineering to create a shoulder sleeve construction or side panel that increases comfort and ergonomy. Also looks so cool and that may be enough for me!" ---Greg

About this Maker

BYBORRE

Textile innovation drives this unique project based in Amsterdam

Yes, BYBORRE makes clothes but they consider themselves more a textile innovation studio than a regular knitwear label, aiming to research and improve textiles and fashion as a whole.

Brainchild of co-founder and designer, Borre Akkersdijk, who trained as a designer in both his home country of the Netherlands and New York.  Borre’s fascination with yarns and trims lead him to studying fashion and the performance of various fabrics to wear.

Started in 2010 and based in Amsterdam, BYBORRE has continually explored the extent to which they can manipulate the knits they’ve become known for. Adhering to the ethos of “form follows function”, BYBORRE uses manual techniques and circular knitting machines to craft unique textures and patterns.
