Using what they learned from previous seasons' weightmap sweaters, BYBORRE introduces the Weight Map hoodie a showpiece of BYBORRE's skills, the hoodie is a functional patchwork that utilizes the inherent qualities of different weights and types of knits, and targets them specifically to where they make the most sense on the body.Using a seasonally appropriate merino wool and cotton fabrication. Panels are knit in 3D at the chest and upper arm sleeves for structure and warmth, with AO2 and AO3 knitting techniques on the lower sleeves and side panels for added warmth and durability.

About this Maker

BYBORRE

Textile innovation drives this unique project based in Amsterdam

Yes, BYBORRE makes clothes but they consider themselves more a textile innovation studio than a regular knitwear label, aiming to research and improve textiles and fashion as a whole.

Brainchild of co-founder and designer, Borre Akkersdijk, who trained as a designer in both his home country of the Netherlands and New York.  Borre’s fascination with yarns and trims lead him to studying fashion and the performance of various fabrics to wear.

Started in 2010 and based in Amsterdam, BYBORRE has continually explored the extent to which they can manipulate the knits they’ve become known for. Adhering to the ethos of “form follows function”, BYBORRE uses manual techniques and circular knitting machines to craft unique textures and patterns.
