"Pennies have long been a go to shoe for me, but when things cool down I usually tuck away the summer suedes to avoid the slush. These put an end to that habit and extend loafer season to a year round constant. Kitted with a light weight lug sole and waterproof storm welt, these can trek through a few inches of snow all across town. More importantly, they just look really cool - the chunk provides some much needed visual weight t to balance those more relaxed silhouettes we've been wearing."---Ludwin

About this Maker

Tricker's

The longest established shoemaker in England, crafting heavy country footwear for both the farmers and landed gentry

Situated in the heart of England, Northampton is a town with a rich history in shoemaking dating back hundreds of years. Among those craftsmen was Joseph Tricker, who founded his eponymous company in 1829 with uncompromising standards of durability and finishing. After fifty years of shoemaking, Tricker passed on the company to his son-in-law, Walter James Baltrop, whose family has steered the wagon ever since.

More than five generations later, Tricker’s has preserved and developed their craft to include a vast variety of models, leathers and color choices, all while staying true to their original values of durability and waterproofing to brave country climate. The result has given birth to some neck breaking designs that appeal to styles a bit more contemporary, with mixed media and contrasting textures all bundled into their charmingly chunky patterns.
