"This is IKIJI at their strongest and most sophisticated - both in terms of the ideas in it but also the construction. With a great double breasted design, this jacket is actually cut out of a special fabric knit on a very exclusive machine, but wears like a springy and soft woven. It's then sewn on their signature twin plover seam machine, giving it flat seams and a level of comfort right off the hanger that rivals the finest bespoke. The dark brown and taupe herringbone looks great with a favorite knit and jeans but can be brought to a whole other level with the matching wide trousers."---Kyle

About this Maker

Ikiji

Chic and playful style with exceptional craftsmanship and luxurious materials

IKIJI is a unique concept in the landscape of men's apparel, or even in fashion in general : bringing together specialized craftsmen under one unified design and styling umbrella.

Created as a coalition of four separate Japanese workshops, each with their own specialty (cut-and-sew, tailoring, knitwear and leather goods), the brand IKIJI ("chic" in Japanese) is based in Tokyo’s Sumida Ward.

A mix of Japanese traditionalism and modern casual menswear, IKIJI achieves a collection that is at once chic and playful, drawing inspiration from the exceptional craftsmanship from the Edo Period and employing "Iwaregara" (traditional patterns). Quality and manufacturing techniques are the core of IKIJI's concept, as each element of the coalition focuses on what they know and do best.

From the creation of new materials, patterns and sewing techniques, IKIJI 's four elements work together to perpetuates a Japanese tradition based on cultural and spiritual harmony
