x Sartoria Carrara: after five years of working with various tailors and tailoring workshop, we realized that our point of view on tailoring could never be fully expressed until we created our own offering. And in the process, to offer a reliable made-to-measure (MTM) service. Our search for a partner that would satisfy all our criteria was long and took a few turns, but when we started rounds of prototyping with Sartoria Carrara, we knew that we found a match. 100% made in Italy, full canvas construction, high quality of make, and decades of MTM expertise. Because we believe in transparency and respect our customers and partner craftsmen, we are happy to co-brand our line and share the spotlight. Sartoria Carrara is located in northwestern Tuscany in the Carrara region best known for its marble and lido beaches. The workshop has been making high quality tailored clothing for various brands for many years and has diligently built a skilled group of talented tailors and seamstresses, as well as thorough and precise processes for MTM adjustments and quality control. Our collection of tailored clothing made by Sartoria Carrara is based on a classic Tuscan/Florentine cut with soft construction and canvassing (but not too soft), a slightly extended shoulder and generous lapels and upper sleeves. It is shaped yet comfortable. The style of our lapel is characterized by a lower gorge than the average modern jacket, with a wider collar band and a straight lapel rolling to the middle button. More about our cut
x El Karti: we've always enjoyed seasonal footwear, and in particular the joy that comes with wearing summer footwear when temperatures rise. Moroccan raffia slippers fall precisely in that category. The material is light and wicks moisture, the texture is dreamy and it allowed us to work with Abdeljalil El Karti, a raffia artisan based in the coastal town of Essaouira, known for this particular craft. After a few prototypes and tweaks to the shape and sole details, we had a great summer shoe that fits somewhere between espadrilles and welted footwear - alongside the huaraches that Chamula makes for us in Mexico every spring summer. .
